The Emirates airline continued to experience rapid growth until 2000 by adding to its aircraft fleet.

Emirates operates a mixed fleet consists of Airbus and Boeing wide-body aircraft. As of October 2022, Emirates is the largest Airbus A380 operator with 119 aircraft in service. Online check-in starts 48 hours and ends 90 minutes before departure. For passengers who have completed online check-in, the recommended time of arrival at the airport is indicated on the boarding passes.

Baggage Allowance

Carry-on Baggage

The amount of cabin baggage allowed on Emirates flights depends on which class you are traveling in. Be sure to pay special attention to this when buying tickets.

Passengers traveling in Economy Class are allowed one piece of carry-on luggage. Dimensions must not exceed 22x15x8 inches (55x38x20 cm) and weight 7 kg (15 lbs).

First Class and Business Class passengers are allowed to carry two pieces of luggage in the cabin: a briefcase, as well as a small bag or suitcase. Briefcase dimensions should not exceed 18x14x8 inches (45x35x20 cm); the bag must not exceed 22x15x8 inches (55x38x20 cm); the thickness of the garment bag can be 8 inches (20 cm) when folded, but not more. And most importantly, the weight of each item should not exceed 7 kg (15 pounds).

Checked Baggage

Baggage allowance in economy class differs depending on the tariff you book: Special - 20 kg, Saver - 25 kg, Flex - 30 kg, Flex Plus - 35 kg. You have a luggage limit of 40 kg for Business Class and 50 kg for First Class.

Luggage dimensions must not exceed 300 cm in the sum of the three dimensions (length + width + height). Bags over this size are not considered luggage.

Passengers traveling with infants are allowed to bring one portable baby stroller or one fully collapsible stroller into the cabin, subject to availability. If there is not enough space in the cabin, these items must be checked in and carried as checked baggage.

Special Luggage

Sporting goods (surfboards, windsurfers, canoes, kiteboarding equipment, pole vault equipment and more) and musical instruments are subject to the same size and weight restrictions as other hand luggage. However, it is possible to use a passenger seat in the cabin, for which you have to pay a fee for the transportation of such items.

If you plan to deliver your bike, please contact Emirates at least 24 hours before departure. Special packaging regulations may apply.

Seat Selection

Emirates passengers can now pre-select one of three seat types: Prefered, Twin, Extra Legroom.

Seat selection is available to all Economy Class passengers for an additional fee. After the start of online check-in, that is, 48 hours before departure, rows of two seats and priority seats can be selected for free. As for seats with extra space, they can be selected for an additional fee up to 6 hours before the flight departure. For those traveling with children under 2 years old, the seats immediately following the partition between the salons are available free of charge.

Note that the possibility of pre-selection of seats on the plane depends on the fare of the traveler. For those flying in Economy Class on a Special or Saver fare, seat selection prior to online check-in is only possible at an additional cost. If you are traveling on Economy Flex or Flex Plus fares, it is possible to select a seat in advance and free of charge, but apart from three new types.

For first and business class passengers, seat selection prior to online check-in is still free. The same service is available free of charge to Economy Class passengers with special needs on Emirates Skywards and certain other fare types.
