With the introduction of new electric buses, the quality and sustainability of the service have improved. Payments can be made via QR code, and schedules are available through the BMTC mobile app.

Currently, there is no direct metro connection to the airport. However, the Namma Metro Blue Line extension is under construction and expected to be operational by mid-2026, connecting Central Silk Board to the airport. Until then, travelers can take the metro to Hebbal or Krishnarajapuram and continue by taxi or bus.

There is also a small railway halt called Kempegowda International Airport Halt near the airport. Only a few suburban trains stop here, and a short shuttle bus ride connects the station to the terminal. Though not widely used, it is an option for some local commuters.

Bicycling or walking from the city center to the airport is impractical. The distance is around 35 kilometers, and there are no dedicated cycling paths or scooter lanes along the way. In addition, the weather and road gradients make it physically demanding.

Travelers using their own vehicles can reach the airport via National Highway 44, which connects through Yelahanka. This route is typically smooth, though congestion can occur during rush hours. Using GPS, the drive can be completed in approximately 50 minutes.

Kempegowda Airport offers multiple parking zones for both short-term and long-term stays. Parking areas P1 and P2 are located near the terminal, with rates based on duration. Tickets are issued upon entry and payment is made at the exit. Private car use is especially convenient for groups and during late-night departures.

Pre-booked private transfer services are ideal for travelers who prioritize comfort and convenience. Companies like Klook, Welcome Pickups, and Sixt provide drivers who meet passengers at the terminal and assist with luggage. Prices typically range between $20 and $30 USD.

These services monitor flight schedules and adjust pickup times accordingly. They are popular among foreign tourists and are available for both individuals and groups. Vehicles are often luxury sedans or SUVs and may include amenities such as air conditioning and Wi‑Fi.

Taking a taxi from the city center to the airport is a convenient and widely used option. Government-authorized operators like Meru Cabs and Mega Cabs are available, alongside local taxi stands. Average fares range from ₹1000 to ₹1200, and the journey typically takes 50 to 60 minutes depending on traffic.

App-based ride services like Uber and Ola are commonly used for airport transfers in Bangalore. Fares vary based on time, traffic, and vehicle type, typically ranging from ₹1000 to ₹1800. The apps also provide real-time travel estimates, which help with planning.

Designated pickup zones for Uber and Ola are located near the terminal. Once a ride is booked, the app provides navigation instructions for both the passenger and driver. Surge pricing may apply during peak hours. These services are also widely used for return trips from the airport to the city.

The BEST (Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport) operates AC bus services linking the airport's domestic and international terminals to Andheri and Vile Parle railway stations. Routes such as 312 and 321 cost as little as ₹6–80 and take around 20–30 minutes to reach nearby train stations.
