Tbilisi International Airport, officially known as Shota Rustaveli Tbilisi International Airport (IATA: TBS), is located approximately 20 kilometers east of Georgia’s capital, Tbilisi, in the Lilo district. The airport first began operations in 1952 and underwent a major modernization project in 2007. It is named after Shota Rustaveli, one of the most prominent figures in Georgian literature. Today, it serves around 4.75 million passengers annually.
The airport serves as the main hub for Georgian Airways and is also used by charter carrier MyWay Airlines. Additionally, several international airlines operate regular flights from Tbilisi, including Lufthansa, Turkish Airlines, British Airways, EasyJet, Qatar Airways, Emirates, and Aeroflot. Popular destinations include Istanbul, Moscow, London, Berlin, Paris, Amsterdam, Doha, and Dubai.
Tbilisi Airport operates with a single terminal building that separates arrival and departure areas.
