RusLine Flights

About

RusLine, established in 1999 and headquartered in Moscow, is a regional airline. It aims to connect smaller cities within Russia to major airport hubs, facilitating travel from regional areas to larger cities. With its main hub at Moscow Vnukovo International Airport, RusLine also operates additional bases in Saint Petersburg, Ulan-Ude, Voronezh, and Yekaterinburg.

The airline’s fleet consists of Bombardier CRJ100 and CRJ200 aircraft, serving approximately 30 destinations. RusLine is particularly known for its services to regions with limited direct connections, playing a significant role in the local aviation sector.

Check-in

RusLine offers both online and airport check-in options to accommodate passenger preferences. Online check-in is available from 24 hours up to 1.5 hours before the scheduled departure time. Passengers can complete this process via the airline's website, selecting their preferred seats and obtaining boarding passes electronically. It's important to note that online check-in is not available for certain passenger categories, such as those traveling with pets, unaccompanied minors, or passengers requiring special assistance.

For those who prefer traditional methods, airport check-in counters open 3 hours before departure and close 40 minutes prior to the flight. Additionally, self-service kiosks are available at select airports, including Belgorod, Krasnodar, Sochi, and Ufa, allowing passengers to choose their seats and print boarding passes. Passengers with checked baggage must drop it off at the designated counters before the check-in deadline. To ensure a smooth boarding process, it's advisable to arrive at the airport well in advance, considering the time required for security checks and other formalities.

Baggage Allowance

RusLine's baggage policy varies based on fare groups and service classes, encompassing regulations for hand luggage, checked baggage, and special items.

Hand Luggage

Passengers are permitted to carry one piece of hand luggage with maximum dimensions of 55 cm × 40 cm × 20 cm and a weight not exceeding 5 kg. Certain routes offer an increased allowance of up to 10 kg, with dimensions not exceeding 55 cm × 40 cm × 25 cm, applicable to "Light" and "Classic" fare groups. Additionally, items such as a handbag, briefcase, or backpack (maximum size: 40 cm × 30 cm × 20 cm and weight up to 5 kg), baby care items, medications, and duty-free purchases (up to 2 kg) are allowed on board without extra charges.

Checked Baggage

The free checked baggage allowance depends on the fare group:

  • Special Fare Group: No free checked baggage allowance.

  • Light Fare Group: One piece up to 10 kg.

  • Classic Fare Group: One piece up to 20 kg or two pieces up to 10 kg each.

  • Optimum Fare Group: One piece up to 20 kg or two pieces up to 10 kg each.

  • Premium Fare Group: One piece up to 20 kg or two pieces up to 10 kg each.

The sum of the three dimensions of each checked baggage piece must not exceed 203 cm.

Special Luggage

Items exceeding the standard weight (over 30 kg per piece) or dimensions (sum of three dimensions over 203 cm) are considered oversized and require prior agreement with the airline. Such items are subject to additional fees as per the established tariffs. Sports equipment and musical instruments are accepted as checked baggage, provided they comply with size and weight restrictions; otherwise, excess baggage charges apply. Passengers are advised to contact the airline in advance to arrange the transportation of special luggage and to inquire about specific fees and requirements.

Seat Selection

RusLine offers passengers the option to select their preferred seats during the booking process, online check-in, or at the departure airport. This service is available on all regular flights. When booking through the airline's website, seat selection becomes available 36 hours before departure. Passengers can choose standard seats or opt for seats with additional legroom, such as those located near emergency exits. However, certain restrictions apply to these seats; for instance, they are not available to passengers who cannot communicate with the crew or those requiring extra seatbelt extensions.

The cost of seat selection varies depending on the seat's location and the time of selection. For example, choosing a seat during online check-in may incur a different fee compared to selecting a seat at the airport. It's important to note that fees paid for selected seats are generally non-refundable, except in cases where the airline changes the seat due to operational requirements or safety considerations. Passengers traveling with infants under two years old without a separate seat can choose from designated rows, and it's advisable to contact the airline's call center for assistance with such arrangements.

Loyalty Program

RusLine currently does not offer a traditional frequent flyer or loyalty program that rewards passengers with points or miles for their travels. However, the airline provides various fare options and promotions to cater to different passenger needs. For instance, they have introduced social fares with specific booking codes, offering discounts for certain passenger categories, such as children under two years old, who may receive a 100% discount on the fare.

Additionally, RusLine has collaborated with organizations like the Russian Youth Union and Gazprom to make traveling more affordable for students, indicating a focus on providing cost-effective solutions for specific groups.

Food & Beverage

RusLine Airlines offers a convenient "Meals on Board" service, allowing passengers to pre-order freshly prepared meals when booking their tickets online. This service is available on flights departing from select airports, including Anapa, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar, Mineralnye Vody, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Simferopol, Sochi, Syktyvkar, and Ufa. Passengers can choose from a variety of meal options, such as sandwiches with whole-grain baguette and farm turkey roulade, brioche with slices of farm turkey and barbecue sauce, and rolls with baked chicken breast and Caesar sauce. The airline ensures that vegetables and fruits included in the meals are seasonally appropriate, maintaining freshness and quality.

In the event of flight delays, RusLine has implemented a system where passengers can receive complimentary drinks and meals by presenting their boarding passes at participating cafes and restaurants within the airport. This service is currently available at airports in Saint Petersburg, Moscow (Vnukovo), Yekaterinburg, and Ufa. Passengers can easily find the list of available establishments through QR codes, airport advertising materials, or via the link provided by the airline. This initiative aims to enhance passenger comfort during unforeseen delays, streamlining the process without the need for vouchers or additional paperwork.

In-Flight Entertainment

RusLine Airlines primarily operates regional flights within Russia, utilizing aircraft such as the Bombardier CRJ100 and CRJ200, which are designed for short-haul routes. These aircraft typically do not feature advanced in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems like seat-back screens or onboard Wi-Fi, as the brevity of the flights often renders such amenities unnecessary. Consequently, passengers are advised to bring personal entertainment devices, such as smartphones, tablets, or e-readers, to enhance their in-flight experience.

While comprehensive IFE systems may not be available, RusLine focuses on providing a comfortable and efficient travel experience. The airline offers services such as pre-ordered meals on select flights and ensures timely departures and arrivals to meet passenger expectations. For travelers seeking in-flight entertainment, it's recommended to download content prior to boarding, as streaming services may not be accessible during the flight.

Pet Policy

RusLine Airlines accepts the transportation of pets with prior approval. Small pets such as cats, dogs, and birds can be transported in the cabin, provided they weigh no more than 8 kg (including the carrier) and the carrier's dimensions do not exceed a total of 115 cm (55x40x20 cm). A maximum of two pets can be carried in the cabin per flight, and they must be seated at least five rows apart. Passengers with pets are not allowed to sit in emergency exit rows or near safety equipment areas. The fee for transporting pets is calculated based on the total weight of the animal and the carrier, and it is not included in the free baggage allowance.

Larger pets or those weighing over 8 kg can be transported in the cargo hold. Pets transported in the cargo hold must weigh a maximum of 50 kg (including the carrier), and the carrier dimensions must not exceed 80x60x60 cm. Up to three pets can be transported in the cargo hold per flight. Guide dogs are transported free of charge in the cabin, provided the required documents are presented and the dog is leashed, muzzled, and secured at the passenger's feet. Additionally, brachycephalic (short-nosed) breeds like boxers, bulldogs, and pugs, as well as some other animal types, are not allowed due to safety and health concerns.

Lounge Usage

RusLine Airlines offers passengers the option to access business lounges at select airports, enhancing comfort before flights. This service is available at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow and Begishevo Airport in Nizhnekamsk. Passengers of any service class can purchase lounge access when booking tickets or during online check-in. The cost for this service is 1,700 RUB. In these lounges, travelers can enjoy amenities such as comfortable seating, complimentary refreshments, and a peaceful environment to relax or work before their journey.

To utilize the business lounge service, passengers are advised to check in online within three hours before departure or at the check-in desks located on the second floor of Terminal A at Vnukovo Airport or the first floor of Begishevo Airport. It's important to manage time effectively, as passengers on international flights need to leave the lounge at least one hour before departure to complete passport control procedures. Boarding typically concludes 25 minutes before the scheduled departure time, so timely arrival at the gate is essential.
